Celebrate International Uilleann Piping Day on 7 November 2026

Articles

On Saturday, 7 November 2026, International Uilleann Piping Day brings musicians and listeners together to celebrate Ireland’s uilleann pipes. Na Píobairí Uilleann (NPU) coordinates the occasion with volunteer organisers around the world.

Discover the pipes and meet the community

The celebration welcomes experienced players, curious listeners and people trying the instrument for the first time. Local programmes may include performances, informal sessions, talks, lessons and hands-on introductions. Workshops can also explore reedmaking, instrument care and bag making.

NPU describes 2026 as the celebration’s 16th anniversary. With gatherings planned across several continents, it is an opportunity to hear different players, discover local piping groups and share the tradition with new audiences.
