Schenectady Pipe Band

We promote the public appreciation and playing of pipes and drums through fellowship, performance, competition, and continuous development of skills. We have an active, ongoing educational program providing musical workshops and scholarships to members and non-members alike. In its pursuit of excellence, the Schenectady Pipe Band has been competing in contests at Scottish games throughout the Eastern United States and Canada, as well as in Scotland. Many members also choose to compete in solo competitions. These events not only reward individual achievements, but also offer incentive to further improve playing skills. Nothing to show in [https://www.bagpiper.com/ images/links/l_3063 ] or folder does not exist

We are people of all ages, walks of life and national descent bound by our common love for the thrilling music of the Highland bagpipe and drum. The Band performs several dozen times a year for a variety of events and practices weekly in order to maintain and improve its standard of performance. A high communal spirit, endless good times, and above all, the joys of achievement are the reward of hours of dedicated practice. New members are always welcome! THE SCHENECTADY PIPE BAND ASSOCIATION. . .

The Association’s goals are to support the Band by organizing trips, fund raisers, and parties and to be of benefit to the Band. Many members also serve as volunteer workers at the Games. They share the satisfaction of making the Games a success. Volunteers also receive free admission to the Games, as a thank you for working at least four hours, and an opportunity to attend our annual Games workers’ picnic. Annual membership cost $10 for families and $7.50 for individuals. For more information write to The Schenectady Pipe Band Association, c/o Alex Mackay, President, 1017 Getz Ave., Schenectady, NY 12303 or sign up at the Capital District Scottish Games (Labor Day weekend) at the Schenectady Pipe Band booth in the concession area.
