Formed in 1998, RCMP Pipes & Drums, New Brunswick is a volunteer band based in Greater Moncton, performing throughout New Brunswick and beyond.
RCMP Pipes & Drums, New Brunswick is a volunteer musical ambassador group based in Greater Moncton. The band entertains communities throughout New Brunswick and beyond, performing at community events, memorials, and international tattoos.
History and leadership
The band was formed in 1998 with approval from the Commanding Officer of RCMP J Division. It wears the official RCMP tartan, whose seven colours are drawn from the RCMP uniform.
The band is directed by Pipe Major Craig Wight, Drum Major Doug Holloway, and Drum Sergeant Paul Spinks.
Membership and purpose
Members are civilian and retired community volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds. Prior RCMP service is not required to join. Through music, the band promotes community relations and shares its musical heritage on local and international stages.
