The Smiths Falls Gordon Pipe Band placed 2nd at the North Lanark Highland Games in Almonte on August 26. The band also placed 2nd in the Eastern Ontario Championship which is an aggregate scoring of the contests in Eastern Ontario.

The Smiths Falls Gordon Pipe & Drum Band was formed in 1996 under the direction of Mel Rodgers and Bill Orr. We wear the Ancient Gordon tartan. The band’s emblem, which is emblazoned on the bass drum, incorporates the Stag’s Head from the Clan Gordon Coat of Arms and the Waterfall Logo from the Township of Smiths Falls. The colours are from the Gordon Tartan: green, blue, gold and black.
The Pipe Major is Steve Brooke and has lead the band since 2002. The Drum Major is Wayne Adams and the Drum Sergeant is Sheila Cornelisse. Our band is a strong community organization with a focus on fun, camaraderie and quality of performance. The band performs at competitions and parades throughout Eastern Ontario We are a not-for-profit organization and do not have any sponsors. All band members donate their time. Money earned from our performances is invested back into the band to buy uniforms and supplies.
