The South African Tattoo hopes to return with a showcase of South Africa’s dance, music, marching and ceremonial bands, joined by guests from tattoos around the world.

About the show
Founded in 2008 by a team from the arts and entertainment industries, the South African Tattoo brings together traditional and ceremonial dance, pipes and drums, military marching and musical ensembles in a theatrical spectacle inspired by the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and other international tattoos.
The organiser’s historical account reports that 145,000 people attended over six years. The show is a member of the International Association of Tattoo Organisers, and South African bands regularly participate in the Edinburgh and Basel tattoos.
