The band was created in 1989, as a non-profit organization, by a couple of scottish music admirers, on Yves Tison and Gilbert Le Bian’s instigation.
The Paris & District Pipe Band is a member of the R.S.P.B.A, (Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association), which registers thousands of pipe bands all over the place.
James O’Mahony was Pipe Major until 1999, followed by Christian Le Saux. William Thomas (Pipe Major), has been leading the band since 2003, with Peter Donald, who is in charge of the drums section (Leading Drummer).
