Canada’s oldest Civilian Pipe Band, founded in 1896. They are the first Pipe Band to be heard in the Nation’s capital on Burns night, January 25,1896. Under the direction of Pipe Major Bethany Bisaillion, the Sons of Scotland compete at the Grade 5 level and perform in some 50 concerts and parades throughout the year. We are committed to developing the talent of each of our members, producing quality music, and having a great deal of fun.
The Sons of Scotland Pipe Band of Ottawa, Canada are welcoming new members, offering free instruction to anyone of any age wishing to learn the Great Highland Bagpipes or highland snare drumming.
10 instructors, quality music and access to top Scotland musicians and seminars available, many performance opportunities, and the chance to create great friendships and great music.
Our band and school, the Ottawa City Piping College, is affiliated with the College of Piping in Glasgow, Scotland.
