Hanna Sheehy Skeffington is born in County Limerick. A committed suffragette, she becomes a founding member of the Irish Women’s Franchise League. Though her focus later broadens, sexual equality remains a core cause throughout her life, especially following the summary execution of her husband during the 1916 Easter Rising.
