Now situated in the Melbourne area, Iain comes from South Ayrshire in Scotland and has resided in Victoria since 1988. A world traveled veteran of the British Army with 25 years military service. Now retired Iain devotes the majority of his time to piping and the history of the great highland bagpipe within a circle of likeminded pipers and friends within the Melbourne area. As a veteran Iain is a guest piper with 5/6 Royal Victoria Regiment Pipes and Drums supporting the Victoria Scottish Regiment Association. "I am inspired and humbled by some of the great pipers of our day like Angus MacColl, Willy McCallum, Jack Lee, Gordon Walker and Roddy MacLeod, to name but a few, and I realise that one never really masters the pipes, it's a never ending quest, always learning and striving to emulate those great solo pipers of past and present, and always a new tune in the wings."
