John Stewart Bagpiper in Spain

John has over 20 years of experience playing the bagpipes, at home in Scotland, and abroad, having played in the USA, Canada, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates, as well as all over the United Kingdom. In 1999 John went to the US as invited resident piper at the US Open Golf, playing for the worlds’ top golfers, at the same time teaching the pipes to a band in Highlands, North Carolina. John played the pipes at the memorial service for Paine Stewart, winner of the tournament that year, who was tragically killed in a plane crash. He moved to Vitoria, in the Basque Region of Spain in the spring of 2002, where he now lives with his wife and family. Since then he has played at weddings and other functions in Barcelona, Seville, Lisbon and the south of France.
