Detail:
The Israel Pipes and Drums began practicing together in the Autumn of 2004. The membership is drawn from all over Israel. The piping background of the members includes band experience on both coasts of the United States, lessons at the Scottish National Piping Center and the College of Piping in Glasgow, Scotland, and training in Israel. Our lead snare was trained in an Australian pipe band. We are now filling out the ranks, and developing our musical repetoire. Traditional Scottish Highland bagpipe tutoring is available from Pipe-Major David Siegel. He has thirty-five years experience in solo and band playing, teaching, and in tune composition. Basic instruction in Scottish pipe-band drumming is available from Drum Sergeant Bob Mountwitten, formerly of the Australian Black Watch, who trained in an Australian Scottish bagpipe band Site for the Israel pipes & drums, and for the bagpipe compositions of p/m David Siegel.
