Colorado Skye Pipes and Drums

Colorado Skye Pipes and Drums is a Colorado-based competitive pipe band with members from as far south as Pueblo, as far north as Golden and Broomfield and as far west as Evergreen. We are a highly successful Grade 3 competition band.

Colorado Skye started out in 1999 as a small collection of pipers and drummers who found themselves between bands. Bound by their interest in Scottish Highland music, the band sought sponsorship from the Colorado Springs Firefighters, who graciously provided funding for the establishment of the group as a uniformed Highland pipes and drums band. Bill Mills, a Captain in the Colorado Springs Fire Department and the first Bass Drummer for the band was, and continues to be, instrumental in the success of Colorado Skye. Colorado Skye Pipes and Drums became a registered non-profit organization with the State of Colorado in February 2000 and is a 501(3c) 3 non-profit corporation. Brian Collins was the band's first Pipe Major, and the band started with a nucleus of 5 players.
