Vienna Pipes

We are a scottish Pipeband here in Vienna (Austria, Europe). The band was founded in 1996. We play traditional scottish bagpipe music (Marches, Jigs, Reels, Strathspeys, Hornpipes and Slow Airs) as well as contemporary tunes.
The band started when some of the pipers living in the roundabouts of Vienna met at the European Bagpipevestival 1996 held in Vienna. After that they met more or less regularily for pipeband practices. After a while more an more members of the local Samh Dubh pipeband joined in. September 2004 a snare drummer joined the band. (We are still waiting desperately for tenor and base drummers to join the band). Christmas 2004 the Vienna Pipes Webpage went online. A piper and a snaredrummer (members of the Vienna Highlanders) joined the band Summer 2005.
