Formed in 1974 by the Police Emerald Society of Westchester County under the auspices of Yonkers City Police Lieutenant Martin J. Harding (3Ret.) Harding was a former member of the NYPD Emerald Pipes and Drums.
The Pipes and Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester Band was founded in May 1973 under the direction of Lt. Martin J. Harding of the Yonkers Police Department. Our membership is comprised of Officers from many of the 39 Police Departments within the County of Westchester, New York.
