Monmouth County Police Pipes and Drums

The Monmouth County Police Pipes and Drums are comprised of federal, state, county and local Law Enforcement Officers to help foster the spirit and proud tradition of police bagpiping, and to represent all Law Enforcement Officers from Monmouth County.
The Monmouth County Police Pipes & Drums were formed to embody all sworn Law Enforcement members of Monmouth County, and is comprised of local, state, county and federal agencies. It is the desire of the Monmouth County Police Pipes and Drums to foster the spirit, pride and professionalism of Law Enforcement to the whole community through our performance at various venues. The Monmouth County Police Pipes and Drums will be representative of all Police Officers in Monmouth County, and will carry our responsibility with honor and integrity, so we may be seen and heard. The first organized meeting and practice was in February 1999. The idea for a police pipe band in Monmouth County came about after the line-of-duty death of Sergeant Pat King of the Long Branch NJ Police Department. Since then, the band has come a long way. Members have performed at various parades throughout the state, New York City, Savannah GA and the Police Memorial in Washington D.C. The band has also participated in numerous line-of-duty funerals, as well as funerals for retired Officers. The band is available for your specific needs. The uniform of the Monmouth County Police Pipes and Drums is a navy blue tartan with a grey stripe on the edge, navy blue hose, grey flashes, military horsehair sporran and white spats. The uniform shirt is gray and the band wears a black glen garry hat. At the present time, the band does not have a tunic (blouse) due to financial limitations. Band practice is held every Monday night at the Glendola Fire House in Wall New Jersey at 7:00 P.M. The band consists of years of piping and drumming experience that represent the highest traditions of police service bag piping. The band is led by Pipe Major Paul Seetoo of the Manalapan Twp Police Department. He is assisted by Pipe Instructor Duncan McCaskill, who has over 50 years of piping experience. He is on the EUSPBA Judging Panel and is a member of their music board. Duncan is also recognized as a Champion Drum Major. The drum line is in good hands under the instruction of Donald Bell, of the infamous Bell Clan. Donald has been playing for well over thirty years and has won numerous awards and competitions.
