Royal Canadian Legion (branch 163) Pipes & Drums
Our band has been providing entertainment to the residents of Hamilton and elsewere since 1971.
The band was formed in 1971 by Pipe Major Bus Featherstone and Drum Major Art Culp, to carry out parade duties for the Mount Hamilton - Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 163. The Band is very active in the community, providing performances each year at numerous parades and functions throughout the area. Some of the community events supported by the band include the Burlington Sound of Music parade, Dunnville Mudcat Festival parade, Six Nations Veterans Association functions, Simcoe Friendship Festival parade, TOMA Foundation for Burned Children "Ride for Burned Kids", Waterford Pumpkinfest, and various Canada Day as well as Legion functions throughout the year, to mention just a few. The band also participates in the Scottish gatherings at Orillia and performs at various functions hosted by the City of Toronto Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The Pipe Band, wearing the McKenzie tartan, is under the musical direction of Pipe Major Bob Spolnik.
