Welcome to the website of the Kansas City St. Andrew Pipes and Drums.
For over forty years we have striven to preserve the traditional music of Scotland. The band was founded in 1962 and incorporates the talents of over seventy musicians, ranging in ages from thirteen to over seventy. We are primarily a community-oriented band committed to furthering the development of piping and drumming in Kansas City and the Midwest. In addition to that, we field three competition bands. A grade II band, grade III band and a grade IV band. We also pride ourselves in being a family oriented band. The band actively supports the cultural diversity of Kansas City through participation in the Kansas City Highland Games, the Kansas City Ethnic Festival, the Kirkin' of the Tartan at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, The Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade and countless other events. We are also available for private performances and members are available for solo, or small group engagements. The Band also offers free piping and drumming instruction to those interested in learning to play the bagpipes, snare, tenor or bass drums
