Order Of The Thistle Pipes and Drums

Grade IV Competition/Performance Band Chartered in 1999 Released 1st CD in May of 2003
The ORDER OF THE THISTLE PIPES & DRUMS at present has 9 pipers and 10 drummers in uniform with a total of 55 members. Chartered in March of 1999, we are the newest band in New Mexico. We wear a Muted MacDonald Tartan. Dusty McDaniel is our current Pipe Major. Signature Tune: FAREWELL TO THE CREEKS. We accept applications for membership from anyone at least ten years of age. Upon acceptance, annual dues are ten dollars for those under the age of 18 and twenty dollars for those 18 or older. These are due annually. There are no added costs for drummers other than the purchase of a drum practice pad and sticks. Pipers supply their practice chanters and eventually buy their own bagpipes. Once certified by the Pipe Major, there is a deposit for the kilt. The remainder of the uniform is supplied by the member. For performances or competition, the member has to be certified.
