Welcome to the Tulach Árd Pipe Band: the premier Grade 2 pipe band in Boston and New England.
The Band is led by Pipe Major Jim Lundt, Pipe Sergeant Donald Ritchie and Drum Sergeant Colum Lundt, all are recognized prize-winning musicians and pipe band leaders. Although based in Boston, the Band's membership hails from throughout the Northeast: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. Band rehearsals are now split between Lexington, MA (Thursday evenings) and Southbridge, MA (weekends) to reduce travel distance for our out of state membership. Major awards in 2004 included third place at Montreal and second place at Capital District. Our drum corps continued to place impressively throughout our abbreviated season with a 2nd place at the North American Pipe Band Championships. Major awards during the 2003 season included: 2003 Canadian Drum Corps Champions (Fort Erie, Ontario), 2003 North American Drum Corps Champions (both events at Maxville) and New Hampshire Highland Games Pipe Band Champions. 2002 season accomplishments included: 1st at Round Hill, 2nd at Rockland County, 7th at North American Pipe Band Championships, 2nd at Montreal Highland Games, 1st at Hunter Mountain, 1st at New Hampshire Highland Games and 2nd at Celtic Classic. TAPB finished 2002 as EUSPBA Season Champions in Grade 2. Tulach Árd also participates in numerous public and private performances during the season. These have included: Sunset Tattoo concerts at the USS Constitution, Independence Day parades in Natick and Duxbury, Patriot Day Parades in Concord and Lexington, the St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston and a performance at the prestigious Ireland Fund Dinner. The Band has also been a featured perfomer at the Lexington Tattoo and the New Hampshire Highland Games Tattoo, playing along with such famed names as the U.S. Marine Corps Band, the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band and the Williamsburg Fife and Drums.
