Morton Bagpipes
Scott and graham morton are cousins who formerly owned and operated caledonia road bagpipes.
Scott morton is the master bagpipe maker. scott started piping as a very young boy through gord cairns and angus laing. he turned professional as a bagpiper at the age of 18 and has played with numerous grade one bands. over the past twenty odd years of his piping career scott has been taught by numerous piping legends including: duncan macfadyen, saemus macneil, john macdonald, mike grey and most recently p/m archie cairns. Scott first started repairing, refurbishing and manufacturing bagpipes in 1987 while attending university. scott worked under the close supervision of the late james macdonald and learned his art and craft. there is no greater way to learn than under the watchful eye of a master. scott is known as a perfectionist with a superior ear for tone. some describe him as an artist who will never release a substandard product. a flawed chanter is put over the knee and a new one is made. as scott says, to be trusted with a pipers pride and joy is an honor and i will treat each instrument like it is my own. graham morton came later to the piping scene but is a tremendous asset in the business in a variety of areas…and yes he gets his hands dirty. our clients include: the la scots pipe band, peel police, ottawa police, toronto police, glengarry p/b, prince charles pipe band, loch norman pipe band, bypb, alaska highlanders, celtic flair, hamilton police, blackwater p/b, macnaughton highlanders p/b, ceol na gael, james miller, fritz hoffman, capt justin b. piper stodghill, david marshall, jim mcgillivray, jake watson and many other notable individuals in the piping world.
