About Adam G. Holdaway: (program excerpt from the Stuart Highland Pipe Band's, An Evening of Celtic Music, March 2004)

Adam Holdaway began playing bagpipes at the age of eleven under the instruction of renowned piping instructor Archibald MacLeod. At an early age, Adam began competing in solo piping competitions and has competed with a number of prestigious bands including the grade 2 (highest grade of competitive band piping in the northeast US) Tulach Ard Pipe Band based in Lexington, Massachusetts.

Adam is one of the most sought after instructors in the Boston area. He is currently the instructor for the Boston Police Pipe Band, the Stuart Highland Pipe Band, and the Chelsea Fire Brigade Pipe Band. He performs at over 150 events throughout the year, and has recently won the prizes for Piper of the Day at The Southern New Hampshire Highland Games, The Colonial Highland Gathering at Fair Hill, Maryland, The New Hampshire Highland games at Loon Mountain, and The Rockland County Irish Feis in New York. Adam has won prizes not only in the US, but also in Scotland and Canada, including a second place in the Professional 'A grade' Piobaireachd (classical music for the bagpipes) in Perth, Scotland. Adam has also performed at the prestigious Nicol-Brown Invitational Contest in October 2002. In addition to his own solo achievements, Adam has led several bands to first prize placing.

In addition to competitions, Adam has single-handedly produced and conducted concerts. One such concert, An Evening of Celtic Music, which featured the Stuart Highland Pipe Band, was a rave review in local newspapers. Adam can also be heard on several movie soundtracks, including the box office hit, The Boondock Saints. Adam is also featured on St. Andrews Presbyterian College's newest album, The Knight Life.

Adam is available for weddings, funerals, and any other occasions. If it is a special event, then you should have the best there is to offer. Award- winning drummers and mini-bands are also available.
