Growing up in the Midwest with a Scottish and Irish background, Robert learned at a very young age to play guitar and wind instruments. After graduation from High School in 1966, he joined the United States Army and served in South Vietnam as a Green Beret. After returning home, he combined his career in the Army with his love of music and specialized in providing beautiful music not only for associations such as the United States Army Special Forces and for many events in North Carolina and surrounding areas where he resides with his wife and two children.
Robert is well known for his professionalism, and presentation, which includes a variety of authentic Scottish attire such as different color kilts, hats and daywear jackets and enjoys performing at various functions such as weddings, ceremonies, parades, parties, funerals, memorials and much more. Though he is a master bagpiper, his musical background also includes Guitar, Fiddle (Celtic) and Harmonica. Mr. White is a member of the former City of Oaks Pipe Band and now belongs to a local pipe band in Raleigh, NC. He is also a member of Eastern U.S. Pipe Band Association, and the bagpiper for the US Army Special Forces Active Duty Personnel. Mr. White competes in the Scottish Highland Games and is an awards and medal winner competitor.
