New Mexico Pipe Band Mac-Tire of Skye Pipes and Drums (pronounced "mack-tea-ray") was founded in August 2007 with the purpose of making great bagpipe and drum performances, teaching students, all while striving for excellence in the quality of piping in the state of New Mexico.
Mac-Tire has quickly become the most sought after pipe band in New Mexico for premier instruction and for their reputation of outstanding and entertaining performances in NM and the surrounding states.
Under the direction of Pipe Major Suzanne "Aden" Lumb, Pipe Sergeant Nate Lorenz and Drum Sergeant Anita Howitt, the band has become well known for unique sets, classic Scottish marches, contemporary compositions, and ancient Irish ballads, while still maintaining the traditional appeal of a bagpipe band.
