We have found a year-round home for our array of imported Scottish, Irish, and English goods, normally only found at highland games.
On Saturday, October 10th, 1998, we had the grand opening of their new store, named Scottish Treasures, in the southeast corner of the Ferry Landing Marketplace in Coronado. A few solo pipers helped announce the opening for the occasion.
The location is a very pleasant little mall aimed at tourists and locals who take the pedestrian ferry between Downtown San Diego and Coronado. Right on the waterfront with a magnificent view, a charming duck pond, and the elegant and popular waterfront restaurant Poeho's, the mall is a delightful place to work and visit.
The shop features an exquisite collection of dolls and bears in Scottish outfits, figurines, Scottish Christmas decorations, ghillies, jewelry, Scottish flags, thistle pottery, teatowels, tartan ties, and all sorts of clever knickknacks that take a long time to see in the rich array of goods.
In 2002 the store was expanded to double it's then size. This allowed for additional Irish merchandise and a new store front called Celtic Corner.
In 2004 we are adding the new merchandise from Ireland and Scotland including Belleck china, Made to Order full length silk skirts and velvet jackets, Melamine placemats and coaster sets, Tartan pill boxes, mirrors, and sewing kits, Westies in tartan and Kilt rentals.
