Police and fire pipe and drum band - To honor fallen law enforcement and fire fighters who have given their lives in service. Middlesex County Police and Fire pipes and drums was formed in 2004, and its membership has grown to nearly 50 members strong. the band performed at over 80 events in 2005 and that demand is expected to increase in 2006. In the early part 2004 two emergency service workers united with a common goal. Tom McGovern, a police officer, and Paul DeLeo, a professional firefighter, conspired to found the very first Middlesex County Police and Fire Pipe Band. Their intention was to provide honor and remembrance for fallen brothers in service. As well, the band would participate in fundraisers for brothers in need and contribute to charitable causes. After some initial meetings and promotion of the need for membership, the band quickly grew and began to organize. Thankfully, member interest was received from all over Middlesex County. Thus, the band benefited by incorporating the input and advises of some of the areas best minds in the pipe band business. With this knowledge we march onward.
