The Kinross and District Pipe Band was formed in 1946, and has been going strong ever since. One of its founding members, Alex Murphy, is still with the band today, and has in fact been Pipe Major for the past 20 years. Formed in 1946 and still going strong, the Kinross Band is a friendly and relaxed band, yet still competes at all the majors and many minor competitions.
The 2006 Season is now almost over, and we would strongly encourage all locally-based players with some experience - particularly pipers - to come along and join us as we bed down and get ready for next year. We are in the fortunate position of having a healthy and growing drum corps, lead by Davie Miller, and the Band could really benefit now from a few extra pipers to swell the ranks !
