Lethbridge Legion Pipe BandThe Legion band, officially the Pipes and Drums of the General Stewart Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, is in year two of its current incarnation. The band tartan is a hunting Stewart (muted colours).
The band meets Wednesday evenings at the Legion from 7 PM until roughly 9 PM. When weather permits, much of the practice takes place outside. For the fall semester, room C610 in University Hall at the University of Lethbridge has been reserved for individual practice space on Sundays, from 1-3 PM. If the room is locked when you get there, just contact security to have the room opened. The band welcomes both interested newcomers without any prior experience and experienced pipers and drummers to join us. Where possible, absolute beginners will be given tuition in a group setting free of charge, although because of the demands placed on limited rehearsal time, beginners are advised to seek out additional individual instruction outside band practice time. Band members can suggest suitable teachers for piping and drumming.
