Welcome to the site of the newly formed Scottish Pipe Band Association of South America. The idea of forming a pipe band association for South America is not a new one. This idea grew alongside with the increasing number of pipe bands during the last half century. During the late 1990s, the number of pipe bands in South America had reached six (2three in Buenos Aires, two in Montevideo, and one in Sao Paulo), and the concept of locally hosting events guided towards piping, drumming, and pipebanding became obvious. The contact between pipe bands became ever more frequent, and the ideas of pipe band events were also strongly supporting the forming of an Association.
