2006 Southwestern Branch Champions:
North Texas Caledonian Pipes and Drums
Summer, 2006
The Southwest Branch held its branch championship competition at the Arkansas Scottish Festival in April. Southwest Champion band awards were handed out to the following bands:
Grade 3 — North Texas Caledonian Pipes & Drums
Grade 4 — North Texas Caledonian Pipes & Drums
Grade 5 — Ballantyne Memorial Pipe Band
Thanks to the folks at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas for hosting this competition.
The next competition coming up is the Oklahoma Scottish Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Watch for the entry forms to go out for that competition soon.
Congratulations to the members of the Westminster Pipe Band of Oklahoma City, for winning the Grade 4 United States Open in Alma, Michigan.
Good luck to the members of the Lyon College Pipe Band and the members of the St. Thomas Episcopal Juvenile Pipe Band heading to Scotland for the World Championships. We know you folks will make the Southwest part of the country proud.
Remember the workshop and branch annual general meeting will be held the weekend of October 27–29, 2006. Hope to see you all there. See you at the line.
