Description: The original owner was a learner piper who purchased these in 1937 direct from Peter Henderson’s workshop in Glasgow.
He had a short stint playing them before WWII broke out and they were then kept in a box for safe keeping.
At the end of WWII he moved to Australia to commence a new life and with work and family commitments etc the pipes stayed stored in the box.
Subsequently the pipes are in ‘as original condition’ having effectively been preserved in a box for over 70 years.
The original owner sold them to me a couple of years ago. They sound magnificent, but as a Grade 4 player I don’t do justice to the pipes and they need to go to a high caliber player.
The ABW and ivory is in good condition (especially considering the pipes are 73 years old!).
I am selling these as sticks only, as most potential buyers of this caliber of pipe will want to choose their own bag and reeds etc.
