Geoffrey pipes HELP!!

Hi, i have just been given a set of Geoffrey pipes and researching them is not looking good, is it worth changing the drone reeds and chanter as an interim measure untill i can afford a decent set ? I am just setting out and still waiting for my McCallum practice chanter set

If you can get them to play and sound half way decent with new reeds, why not ?

Save you money and by yourself a new set of pipes, but practice as much as you can with these pipes as long as they work.
