I would like to hear from owners of the Highland Hornpipe on which model they purchased, how they use them and any reviews they would like to share.

Hi!
I have two:
B flat
GHB B flat
That's the Pipe Major and the Tattoo
I'm happy with both.
They have a different sound.
The Pipe Major goes well with other instruments, but when playing alone I love the tattoo best. The sound just begs for improvisation.
A lot depends on how well you can place your reed,
and how well you can play the reed, and
on the kind of mouthpiece you use.
I haven't introduced them to the band I'm a member of, but will do that in the near future.
I think it's a great instrument for bagpipe pupils to show off what they have learned, as the fingering is the same and the sound is far better than a chanter.
