Hi!
Can someone explain how to play the High A gracenote? I understand how to play D, E, and High G but I'm confused on High A.

In case this is of use, my practice books says:
"a. Play High G.
b. Go to F with a High Gracenote (raise & lower the High A at the same time F is heard)"

I think I'm having trouble with the vagueness...does "raise and lower the High A" mean I remove my thumb *and* put down my ring finger -or- just remove the thumb -or- just put down my ring finger? Or are none of those right?

Thank you for the help!

Just play the High G to the F a few times and look at your fingers. Notice that just one finger is moving ? Now try adding the High A Gracenote, move both your Index Finger and Thumb at the same time. It looks like you are pinching the top and the bottom of the chanter with your fingers.

Here is an exercise for the High A Gracenote

Hear the Excercise (http://www.bagpipenetwork.com/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=2&song_id=15) - it is played 3 times in a row, with a pause between each measure.
