I am also left-handed if that will change anything.

Hello,

Welcome to our website. All students of bagpiping require a practice chanter to begin to learn the instrument. Most chanters go for $50 on up. As far as a being left handed, you may need to reverse your finger position, but this is not really a big deal.

If you need further help let us know.

Cheers

Hello all - I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to pipes. I've always wanted to play, and got a Pakistani set years ago from our local music store. We unfortunately found out shortly after that the Pakistani pipes have a bad rep for shoddy material. I'd love to get another set and try again, since it's long been a dream of mine, but need a little guidance on where to start. Anyone have any suggestions for a beginner and a good starter set to start with? Also - I do have a practice chanter, but I do need some new reeds for it. Where is a good place to get chanter reeds from? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
