I am in the very beginning stages of learning to pipe. I have picked up the college book, a practice chanter, and in the near future, an instructor

This is where my question comes in. I have tried, tried, TRIED, to play with normal/conventional fingering techniques (left hand over right) and I am unable to do it. It feels so unnatural. Right hand over left, no worries, feels great and natural.

So what happens to someone like me? Do I have a backwards set up on a set of GHB? How does this work itself out on a set of pipes.

If it works for you then don't worry about it. The biggest issue you should have will be looking at tutor books which will just show your fingers reversed from your playing position.

Good luck piping !

You shouldn't have any problems. When you end up getting a set of pipes, you can get a left handed bag. Bannatyne makes one and I think canmore does too.
